Lipoma is a benign (non-cancerous) growth of fat cells under the skin, typically soft, movable, and painless. These fatty lumps grow slowly and are commonly found on the neck, back, shoulders, arms, or thighs.

Common Causes:
    •    Genetic factors (often hereditary)
    •    Minor injuries or trauma
    •    Age (more common in adults 40–60)
    •    Obesity (in some cases)

Common Symptoms:
    •    Soft, rubbery lump under the skin
    •    Moves slightly when pressed
    •    Usually painless (but can cause discomfort if pressing on nerves)
    •    Size ranges from small (pea-sized) to large (5cm or more)

Treatment Options:
    •    Surgical excision (complete removal)
    •    Liposuction (in some cases)
    •    Steroid injections (to shrink small lipomas)
    •    Non-surgical options for cosmetic concerns

Although lipomas are not dangerous, people often choose to remove them for comfort, appearance, or reassurance.
